CREW LIST AND RESULTS

The Head of the Trent saw some of the worst conditions in the event's history causing racing to be shortened to a 3.7km course. NTUBC sent four crews spread across division two and three including two Novice crews of a Women's 8+ (W.Nov.8+) and Men's coxed four 4+ (M.Nov.4+) and two Senior Men's quads (M.Int3.4x) who were battling it out in the Intermediate three category.

Division two saw the conditions worsen and meant racing had been shortened from Toll Bridge to Trent Bridge for Novice racing. First to test the waters was our Novice Women's 8+ who had been making noticeable improvement over the past weeks. For the majority of the crew this was only their second Head race, all those involved overcame a battle against the elements and gave a fantastic performance finishing 9th out of 16 crews. It was now time for our Novice Men to finish off the division in style coming a 7th out of 13 crews. Improving upon last year's novice result in a more competitive field of crews.

Division three saw our two quads resolve an inter-club grudge match. Off first was NTU-Pope who were then swiftly chased by NTU-Swain. After battling through the worst of the wind and choppy water just before the school both crews remained focused and made use of the strong tailwind down the club straight. With a strong finish to T.S.OrionNTU-Swain did enough to take the win with a time of 11:39.1, with NTU-Pope doing enough to take 3rd in a time of 11:51.0 (a mere 0.9 of a second from taking 2nd place).

Strong racing from all crews on home waters showing the ability to retain composure in tough conditions and still perform to the best of their abilities.
